IBM Cognos Mobile Reporting for Sales
Starting point
- Field sales representatives are often on the move and at client sites. During this time, direct access to sales analyses is not possible
- Printed sales reports are often outdated. Quick analysis of key figures is difficult
- The client requested sales analyses in digital form, with access available at any time and analysis functions provided
Procedure
- The project was implemented using the classic waterfall method. However, the concept phase was replaced by a prototype approach
- Following this, report development was carried out using IBM Cognos 10.2.1
- The test phase was conducted with a selected department, after which implementation took place in all other areas
Features/Project outcome
- The core of the territory management reports consists of 4 Active Reports, which – depending on the users' permissions – can be used for individual territory evaluations up to company-wide sales analysis
- The report distribution is automated and permission-controlled to the iPads of over 700 employees
- Employees can interactively perform customer analyses defined in the reports

- Effort and time savings for employees through automated report distribution (bursting) to iPads as soon as they are available online.
- Employees now have the ability to analyse key figures, even though they are not directly connected to the company’s data warehouse.´´
