Geo-fencing engine as services based on HERE geo-data
Starting point
- Geo-services have become indispensable for modern vehicles
- Future vehicle generations must be able to perceive a larger environment through georeferenced data
- A geo-fencing engine is needed, which provides all polygons referenced by a geolocation
- The polygons must be able to be enriched with metadata
- Utilisation of geo-services for traffic flow information
Procedure
- Provision of geo-fencing functions for the efficient analysis of geolocation-based data
- Implementation based on HDFS and HBase data storage
- Integration of Java and Spark code into the customer's environment
- Stabilising and testing the solution with various data, including traffic flow information
Features/Project outcome
- Expansion of the geo-service platform with geo-fencing functionality
- Stable and tested service functionality
- Streaming of traffic flow information through the geo-services
Customer benefits
- Enhanced analysis capability through vehicle position information
- Improvement of the driving experience and service offerings for vehicle users
- Future-proofing for car-to-car communication by enriching map data, e.g., with parking space detection and traffic light signal prediction
