FAQs
Here you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our application process:
1. How can I apply? In other words, what are my options?
There are basically three ways to apply. The specific method required is always indicated directly in the job posting. You will either be asked to submit your application via email or be directed to our applicant portal. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us by phone.
Option 1: Apply via our career portal. You will be automatically redirected there as soon as you click “Apply Now” on a relevant job posting. After a quick registration, you can conveniently upload all key information, your cover letter, your resume, etc., via the portal and submit your application.
Option 2: Send an email to karriere@woodmark.de. All we need here is your detailed and authentic resume. Alternatively, you can simply send the link to your XING or LinkedIn profile and your contact information so we can get back to you.
Option 3: Give us a call. You can reach your contact person, Tabea, quickly and easily on her cell phone at +49 (151) 25677161.
2. Can I also submit a speculative application?
We’d love to! We appreciate it when applicants show initiative right from the start. You can submit a speculative application via email, phone, or our applicant portal.
3. How up-to-date are the job postings?
Job postings are generally up to date. In rare cases, changes may need to be made to job postings at short notice, but these will be updated as soon as possible.
4. Are these positions intended exclusively for college graduates?
No. Whether you acquired your skills through a degree program or vocational training is secondary. We are interested in your experience and your personality.
5. Should I still apply even if none of the company's locations are a good fit for me?
Absolutely. In your role as a consultant, being on-site at the company’s office isn’t a priority. You’ll be on-site at the client’s location. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete many tasks remotely, such as from your home office.
6. What is the starting salary?
Our salaries are competitive, and thanks to our company pension plan, numerous benefits in kind, and special and social benefits, they are particularly attractive. However, the exact starting salary also depends on individual factors, such as your experience.
7. Is my personal information secure in the applicant pool?
Yes. Your personal data is safe with us and is stored, managed, and protected in compliance with the GDPR. Specifically, this means that your personal data is handled with the utmost discretion and will not be used for any purpose other than the one for which it was collected. We do not ask for more information than is necessary, and we only retain it for as long as necessary. You remain in control of all your personal data at all times and have the right to view or have your data deleted.
8. Will my documents be handled confidentially?
Yes, of course! Compliance with the GDPR, data security, and confidentiality are our top priorities. We handle your documents with the utmost care internally and, of course, ensure that nothing is disclosed to outside parties.
9. Can I remove my profile from the applicant pool, and what happens to my data then?
Yes, you can remove your profile from the applicant pool at any time. In that case, your data will be deleted immediately.
10. What should I keep in mind when uploading my documents?
If you apply through our applicant portal, you will find all the necessary instructions for uploading documents there. We recommend uploading PDF files. However, .docx Word files or images are also acceptable. Please ensure that your file attachments do not exceed a total size of 24 MB.
11. What should the application include?
Your resume. If available, a list of your projects would also be very helpful to us. The same applies to current transcripts and certificates of qualification. A cover letter is optional. If any additional materials are required, you will find details in the job description.
12. What format should I use for my application?
Ultimately, it doesn't matter to us how you format your application. What's more important is that it is easy to understand and clearly structured.
13. How can I make sure my application has been received?
If you apply through our applicant portal, you will immediately receive a confirmation email from us stating that we have received your application. We will review and evaluate your application as soon as possible. Within a few days, you will receive personalized feedback on your application. Please understand that we take the time to review everything carefully, so please wait a while before calling to inquire about the status. If your application impresses us, we will invite you to a phone interview as the next step.
14. Can I apply for multiple locations and jobs and submit my application materials more than once?
You are certainly welcome to apply for multiple locations and positions. We also proactively review alternative job openings for you and, if appropriate, may suggest opportunities that we believe might be a good fit. All you need to do is mention in your cover letter that you are interested in multiple positions and locations. However, you do NOT need to submit your application materials multiple times.
15. Do I absolutely need a cover letter?
No, but a cover letter can definitely be helpful. For example, if you have little professional experience or if communication skills are a key factor, your cover letter can give us important insights into what motivates you and whether you’re a good fit for us. The longer you’ve been in your current role, the more important a list of projects can be, and the more you can get by without a cover letter.
16. Can I apply again after being rejected?
Of course. Don’t let a rejection discourage you. Sometimes your profile just isn’t the right fit for a particular position. Just keep an eye out for suitable openings at Woodmark Consulting AG and don’t hesitate to apply again.
17. How long do job interviews at Woodmark last?
It depends a bit on the kind of person you are. As a general rule, you should set aside about 30 minutes for a phone call and about an hour for an in-person interview.
18. What is the best way to prepare for the interviews?
You should know your resume and your most important projects inside and out. Also, prepare for technical questions related to your field. Be clear about your expectations and what you hope to gain from us. Feel free to jot down any questions you’d like to ask in advance. If you can also demonstrate that you’ve researched our company and feel at home in the digital age, you’ll be perfectly prepared.
19. How long after the interview will it take to hear back from you?
You will usually receive a response to your application within a few days. Please understand that we take the time to review everything carefully, and please wait a while before calling to check on the status.
20. What happens during the in-person interview?
The interview typically involves at least one HR representative and a colleague from the relevant department. They will briefly introduce themselves before you have the opportunity to introduce yourself. In addition to your personality, we are particularly interested in your most recent work projects and your current responsibilities. After we’ve asked any questions we may have, we’ll dive into the work environment at Woodmark and your preferred department with you. After that, you’ll have plenty of time to ask us any questions you may have and clarify any open points.
21. Where do Woodmark consultants work?
All of Woodmark’s projects are based exclusively in German-speaking countries. Due to the nature of their work with various clients, our consultants are typically on assignment throughout Germany. The type and extent of travel required depend on the specific position and can be discussed in advance by phone or during the interview.
